ZUBAIR OIL FIELD DEVELOPMENT

The Zubair oil field is located in southern Iraq, approximately 20 km from the city of Basra. The field is characterized by a gentle NNW–SSE trending anticline, approximately 60 km long and between 10 and 15 km wide.

The Zubair project represents a typical brownfield development, involving the revamping of existing facilities together with the installation of new permanent infrastructure aimed at maximizing the production capacity of the existing processing plants.

Tecnoconsult carried out the Detailed Engineering for 18-inch, 24-inch, 36-inch, and 52-inch OD crude oil transfer pipelines connecting five Degassing Stations, with a total crude oil pipeline length of approximately 40 km.

The engineering activities also included the design of 16-inch and 24-inch trunklines for river water transportation, with a combined length of approximately 30 km.

Tecnoconsult also designed 115 flowlines in 6-inch, 8-inch, and 10-inch diameters for oil production as well as water and gas transportation, with a total length of approximately 360 km.

The project further included the engineering design of 115 wellhead areas dedicated to production wells and injection systems.
