Tecnoconsult
Installation Engineering
TECNOCONSULT has extensive experience in the engineering design of sealine installation and offshore structures in very shallow, shallow, deep, and ultra-deep waters.
Installation engineering activities are developed through a comprehensive assessment of the type, dimensions, and capabilities of the installation vessels involved, the metocean conditions of the operating area, the possible presence of geohazards or restricted areas, as well as the development plans for future or existing offshore systems into which the new flowlines and structures will be integrated.
For subsea field development projects, installation engineering expertise covers rigid and flexible flowlines and risers, manifolds, tie-in systems, umbilicals, and related subsea infrastructure.
The main analyses carried out by the Installation Engineering department include:
Installation analysis of rigid flowlines and sealines using J-Lay and S-Lay methodologies; installability analysis of flexible flowlines, risers, and umbilicals, including the evaluation of installation loads under different operational scenarios and project phases.
Static and dynamic analyses are also performed for rigid pipeline installation, including start-up, laydown, shore pull, standard installation procedures, and emergency scenarios such as dry buckle and wet buckle.
Additional activities include Above Water Tie-In analysis, pulling head design, lifting analysis of expansion loops, spools, jumpers, risers, supports, and structures, Transportation Analysis, pipe stacking, seafastening, installation vessel mooring analysis, subsea structure deployment, as well as wet storage and layout studies.
All engineering activities are complemented by the preparation of technical specifications, method statements, installation manuals, onshore yard layout optimization, offshore system integration studies, ROV operability assessments, and the production of technical drawings and tender documentation.
Transportation & Installation engineering activities are performed using certified software tools that ensure the highest quality standards. The main analysis software includes Ansys Aqwa, OrcaWave, SACS, SESAM, ABAQUS, and Orcaflex.
