Flow Assurance
TECNOCONSULT has gained extensive experience in Flow Assurance engineering for both single-phase and multiphase systems, working with major Oil Companies and leading international engineering firms.
The systems primarily analyzed include single-phase gas and liquid pipelines, onshore and offshore multiphase systems in both shallow and deep waters, gathering systems from wells and wellhead facilities, as well as gas and condensate pipelines.
Tecnoconsult's engineering approach for gathering systems and transmission pipelines is supported by internationally recognized software, including OLGA, PVTsim, and PIPENET.
The Flow Assurance team consists of highly qualified in-house specialists with extensive experience gained through years of studies and projects carried out in accordance with the latest international standards and advanced engineering practices.
Flow Assurance studies are developed through several engineering phases, including fluid characterization, steady-state analysis, and transient analysis.
Fluid characterization activities are performed to simulate fluid properties and experimental PVT data.
Steady-state hydraulic analyses are carried out to verify pipeline performance under different transportation capacity scenarios by evaluating pressure, temperature, fluid velocity, and pressure losses, ensuring compliance with operating limits and EVR (Erosional Velocity Ratio) requirements.
Transient analyses are developed using different engineering approaches. For liquid pipelines, water hammer effects caused by sudden valve closures or pump shutdowns are evaluated, ensuring compliance with the applicable design codes.
For gas pipelines, operability limits are defined, including survival time, packing time, and blowdown scenarios.
For multiphase pipelines, the maximum slug size and duration are analyzed to support the proper sizing of slug catchers and to define plant preservation procedures in the event of system shutdown.
