The offshore block covers a total area of approximately 3,765 km², with water depths ranging from 1,100 to 1,700 metres and distances from the shoreline between 100 and 200 km.

The project involved the BACK-UP DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM for the development of the existing Zohr Field, aimed at providing offshore power supply and communication services.

Tecnoconsult carried out the FEED Design activities for the 30-inch gas export pipeline, connecting a deepwater PLET installed at approximately 1,500 metres water depth to the shore approach.

The main engineering challenges involved optimizing the pipeline routing, which was heavily influenced by seabed geomorphology, the presence of geohazards, and the high level of congestion caused by the numerous existing pipelines within the offshore area.

Tecnoconsult's scope included routing studies, preliminary engineering verification, geotechnical assessments, and the integration of the new infrastructure with the existing offshore system, ensuring compliance with the major international standards for deepwater offshore projects.
