Tecnoconsult SoW: Detailed Engineering Design

The existing Chad-Cameroon Pipeline System (CCPS) is a 30-inch crude oil pipeline transporting oil from Chad to the Cameroonian coast. The system originates at Pump Station 1 within the Central Testing Facilities (CTF) near Kome, in southwestern Chad, and extends to the offshore connection with the export pipeline leading to the offshore marine loading terminal off the coast of Cameroon.

The pipeline system has a total length of approximately 1,070 km, of which approximately 890 km are located within Cameroon.

Following the construction of a dam at the confluence of the Lom and Pangar rivers, two sections of the existing pipeline became subject to flooding and required replacement.

Tecnoconsult's scope of work included the detailed engineering design of two new 30-inch pipeline sections, each approximately 13.3 km long, replacing a total of about 26.6 km of the existing pipeline in Cameroon, including survey activities and engineering support during construction and commissioning.

The engineering activities also included the design of the cathodic protection system, two sections of armoured fibre optic cable installed along the new pipeline, procurement and installation support, the design of four valve stations, a 24-inch bypass pipeline for temporary flow diversion, decommissioning of the existing pipeline, and commissioning of the new infrastructure with technical support to the Client's operating personnel.

Tecnoconsult also designed a temporary bridge to enable the crossing of the Pangar River during the construction works.
