Tecnoconsult SoW: Detailed Design for Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, HSE, and Pipeline Engineering
The project involved the development of an onshore Gas Processing Unit (GPU) designed to process natural gas produced from the Iguana field, located in the Gulf of Paria, close to the coast of Trinidad.
The processed gas was intended to be used as fuel for the existing Proman Group methanol production facilities, including the Auxiliary Boilers and Primary Reformer burners.
The new Gas Processing Unit was planned for the eastern area of the Point Lisas Nitrogen Limited (PLNL) facility, approximately 3 km north of the Proman Methanol plants.
The primary function of the facility is to receive approximately 80 MMSCFD of natural gas from the offshore wells, separate gas, hydrocarbon condensates, and produced water, process the gas, and deliver the treated product through dedicated pipeline systems and truck loading facilities.
The project also included the treatment and pumping of produced water to authorized disposal facilities.
Tecnoconsult carried out the Detailed Design covering piping engineering, stress analysis, 3D modelling, Material Take-Off (MTO), electrical engineering, instrumentation engineering, and HSE activities, including QRA studies, Fire & Gas system design, and fire protection engineering.
The scope of work also included technical support for vendor bid evaluations and technical follow-up during the procurement phase.
