Tecnoconsult SoW: Detailed Design of Offshore/Onshore Pipelines and Pig Trap Station with Depressurization System
The FUJAIRAH F2 Power and Desalination Plant, located in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, is a gas-fired power plant designed to use diesel as a backup fuel.
To ensure the supply of the backup fuel, the project included the construction of a new SPM (Single Point Mooring) system together with an onshore receiving facility.
The SPM was designed approximately 3 km offshore, opposite the F2 power plant, in a water depth of around 40 metres, integrating with the Fujairah Port SPM terminal master plan.
Tecnoconsult carried out engineering activities, developed pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures, and provided technical support for vendor bid evaluations and technical follow-up related to the SPM system and the subsea pipeline installed in a trench and backfilled.
The main engineering activities included the detailed design of a new 24-inch offshore and onshore pipeline system connecting the subsea PLEM to the onshore metering skid.
Tecnoconsult also designed the onshore pig trap station together with a depressurization system capable of completely relieving the pipeline pressure after each fuel offloading operation.
The scope of work also included the preparation of material requisitions for the procurement of major equipment and materials, including long-lead items, depressurization system components, sacrificial anodes, and pipeline fittings.
Finally, Tecnoconsult provided on-site engineering support to the Client during the plant start-up activities.
