Tecnoconsult skills and experience are extended to Offshore Wind Farms design also, both for fixed and floating foundation.
Here below the main experiences have been summarized, which have been gained thanks to some of the major studies successfully implemented:
WIND RESOURCE ASSESSMENT:
Detailed wind resource assessment starting from LIDAR data or available datasets available (e.g. ERA5) using WindSim® that computes Reynolds Averaged Navier Stokes equations by using finite volume methods. Sector-wise steady state simulations can be performed to predict the flow over the complex terrain.
WRF mesoscale hindcasting starting from MERRA or ERA5 datasets.
SCOURING & INTERVENTION WORK: engineering experience relevant to cables and offshore structures for protection against third party object, wave and current scouring, crossing with existing assets.
ENGINEERING & ROUTE DEVELOPMENT: geological-geotechnical aspects to be investigated in the design of subsea facilities and pipeline systems
SHORE APPROACH design, including trenchless solution like HDD and microtunneling.
NAVIGATION RISK ASSESSMENT: AIS data analysis and risk assessment due to vessels collision with wind farm and interaction with cables.
VISIBILITY analysis: Wind farm 3D render, photomontage and calculation of visibility index including hillshade with 3D orography and considering earth curvature.
HYDRODYNAMIC perturbance on coastal WAVE and CURRENT (for coastal erosion assessment).
INSTALLATION ANALYSIS:
MOORING ANALYSIS: floating wind turbine/substation modelling with wave, current, wind, electrical cables and mooring.
