LNG Marine Terminals

Over the last years, LNG has become a leading technology to transport gas over the world and connect the gas production sites with the demanding site, whatever is far the distance among them. During these years, TECNOCONSULT has developed technical skills to provide design of LNG terminals and regasification technology.

Thanks to our background in offshore and in the design of oil marine terminals, we are deeply specialized in LNG marine terminals like offshore steel platforms, conventional berthing at jetties and quays, gravity base structures (GBS) and Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU).

LNG marine terminals have six typical functions:
1 Allows berthing of LNG Carriers (LNGC) and unloading or reloading of cargoes;
2 Allows the storage of LNG in cryogenic tanks (approx. -160°C).
3 Allows the state transition from liquid to gas by means of a set of heat exchangers (vaporizers) and a heat source.
4 Allows the transfer of the liquid from the storage tanks to the LNG Carriers and/or vice versa, allows the delivery of the gas up to the network connection point at the desired conditions.
5 Allows the gas conditioning (e.g. temperature, Wobbe index etc).
6 Allows the gas and liquid measuring (Custody Transfer Metering Unit, Metering skid).

TECNOCONSULT design capabilities can be listed as follows:
